BrandFormation Questions (Answered by our Founder)
Our service isn’t unique—our approach is. We don’t just build websites; we think, search, and click like your customers to understand their behavior before we even start designing. We do the deep-dive research, obsess over the details you don’t have time to care about, and refine every pixel until it’s perfect. You’ll know when you have a Gorilla website—it stands out, performs better, and makes an impact. We don’t settle for “good enough,” and we won’t stop until you’re 100% satisfied with your new website and branding package. Our difference is in the details, our drive, and our commitment to making sure both you and your customers win.
If you’ve done marketing in the past, you’ve most likely been asked for a brand guide, style sheet, or some file that holds your brand assets. This makes up much more than a logo or mission statement. We believe you should do this right with a team you trust and create a brand guide that lives and evolves with your business. Whether you are looking for SEO, social media, Google ads, a new website, etc., your branding guide will become invaluable in the future and work to create a tangible asset to your business. We help our clients solidify things such as: target audiences, style and tone, visual identities across platforms, content strategies, and more. Our brand guides are typically upwards of 70 pages and are as unique as our clients.
“How long” is more of a goal than anything we can guarantee but my answer is always as quick as we can without losing a single bit of quality or detail. Our goal is to complete the transformation package in 90 days from start to finish. We do this by working on multiple timelines between our design team, developers, and ownership, who make up content and strategy, all working together to maximize time on the project. The reality is that our work is dictated by the collaboration with our clients, the 20%, as we call it. To work efficiently, we’ll need a point person who can provide updates, revisions, and comments throughout the revision cycles so we can take the steps necessary to get closer and closer to the finish line.
Yes. It’s a core of what we do and how we select clients we’ll work with. Our job isn’t to deliver what we think is great; it’s to get ideas and vision from our clients to help make their brand and business look the way they’ve always wanted. We are the tools to make that vision come to life, and without the involvement of our clients, the job is not as fun or rewarding. In all aspects of our job, we encourage involvement and feedback from our clients, which cannot happen without discussions, collaboration, and thoughtful Q&A from the beginning and throughout the working timeline.
I always approach this question in a different way. Think about a time when you visited a website that was so bad, so terrible, that you left in seconds: slow load, poor design, and no real answers to the questions you had. We’ve all done it, we all do it. So the first part of that answer is: don’t do that, and you’ll get more customers. Secondly, we look and feel with our eyes. We’ve all seen beautiful sites that almost make you want to experience the site vs. click and scroll. We like to bridge the “pretty” with the “educational” to provide the best one-on-one experience with whoever comes to the site. Doing this gives us the highest chance of converting them into a lead.
A few things on this. Anyone can technically build a website, look at Wix or Squarespace ads, and you’ll see how “easy” it is to get something up. What is often overlooked is the technical experience to build a website worthy of someone’s business and brand. For instance, you need a design team that creates a unique website that looks, feels, and is branded so that no one else has the same site. You then need a content team that knows how to talk to your customers in the style and tone of your brand. And most importantly, you need a development team that understands how to take a design and make it come to life, covering the details and little things that matter when it comes time to launch. Hence, the design actually comes to life and isn’t just a pretty art project. And finally, you need a team that understands data and the impact on mobile vs. desktop and how to track users from click to conversion to maximize any future marketing campaigns that come up.
Once the website is launched and the branding package is delivered with approvals (and everyone is happy), our team implements a two-week monitor and review cycle to ensure all systems work as they should. This includes browser checks, contact form tests, and monitoring of data systems. After that, we provide options for monthly maintenance, marketing campaigns for post-launch, or simply package the assets together and complete our work with a thorough offload for our clients to continue their day-to-day business with their new assets.
Have a good fit chat with us. Meet us, ask questions, and see for yourself. There are a lot who say they can do what we do – and we say a lot about how we are different from everyone else. This is business. We aren’t for everyone; we are unique in our attitude and how we approach the industry and fight for our clients. We don’t just “build websites” or “do SEO” – our approach is collaborative and thoughtful, and we aim to be more of a marketing department for our clients vs. a service provider. What usually makes us a great fit for our clients is less about the services and more about our communication, high level of design, care about the details, and competitiveness to win. Our work will always speak for itself, and sometimes the best way to know if we’re a good fit is to meet us or call our current clients and ask them yourself.
