The Gorilla Agency is looking for WordPress Website Developer. In this position, you’ll be in charge of WordPress website tasks of all kinds. This is NOT a coding position – though knowledge of basic HTML and CSS code is preferred. Instead, The Gorilla Agency uses pre-built WordPress themes for client websites and customizes each one with unique style, layouts, and content for each client. Since these themes come partially designed already, the Web Developer will be in charge of the remaining design of the web pages (ensuring each page is laid out well and looks good) as well as the technical aspect of actually building out the pages to match this design. Websites are the foundation of marketing and our clients’ most important marketing tool. If you can design websites like look fantastic AND function perfectly – this role is for you.

WordPress portfolio and client references required.

Required Skill Set:

The ability to design aesthetic and functional web page layouts using WordPress themes to accommodate client content – requires a “design-oriented” mind

The ability to build web pages with a variety of WordPress page builders (WP Bakery, Beaver Builder, Bold Builder, VanTam Builder, Elementor, etc.)

The ability to implement a variety of common WordPress plugins (Contact Form 7, Ninja Forms, Revolution Slider, Yoast, etc.)

Specific Website Tasks:

• Purchasing and transferring domains between hosting accounts
• Changing hosting nameservers and adjusting DNS records
• Setting up and working within CPanel or CPanel equivalent
• Installing SSL certificates
• Connecting CDNs
• Researching WordPress themes that fit clients’ desired aesthetics and feature needs
• Installing WordPress themes, plugins, and demo content
• Organizing website pages and creating appropriate sitemap structures
• Troubleshooting website contact forms using SMTP plugins
• Researching plugin or alternate solutions for special client-desired features
• Adjusting page layouts to be responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
• Adding SEO keywords, title tags, and descriptions to website pages
• ALT-tagging images
• Optimizing websites for site speed and performance using page caching plugins and features
• Performing website updates to WordPress, themes, and plugins and troubleshooting errors
• Transferring completed websites between hosting accounts or from temporary domains to live domains

  • Work hours: Monday through Friday – 9 am to 5 pm
  • Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve
  • Leave: 40 hours/year PTO available after 120 days after initial employment
